Salvaged Antique Mill Bobbin with Twine

E-mail this product to a friend

This is a fun way to enjoy a little piece of British industrial history. Throughout the mid 19th century, Lancashire cotton mills used bobbins during mechanized weaving and spinning of yarn. Many bobbins had colored ends to distinguish between departments or the ply of yarn that was to eventually be wrapped round the spindle. Through the years the colored bobbins have been worn to a wonderful patina and are now keenly recycled to hold a ball of Nutscene jute twine. They make a smart and artful addition to your kitchen pantry or that perfect "found" item for library or study. *Please note that due to the unique nature of this item consistency in bobbin coloring and finish will vary and while we will be happy to take special requests, we may be unable to honor your first choice.
