Salvaged Antique Mill Bobbin with Chunky Twine

E-mail this product to a friend

This is a fun way to enjoy a little piece of British industrial history. Throughout the mid 19th century, Lancashire cotton mills used bobbins during mechanized weaving and spinning of yarn. Many bobbins had colored ends to distinguish between departments or the ply of yarn that eventually would be wrapped round the spindle. Through the years these colored bobbins have worn to a wonderful patina. Today, they are recycled to hold a two pound ball of soft, natural chunky jute twine perfect for all your garden projects. *Please note that due to the unique nature of this item consistency in bobbin coloring and finish will vary and while we will be happy to take special requests, we may be unable to honor your first choice.
